The term "underdog" has  never been more appropriate a term than for this US National Men's Soccer team entering the 2014 World Cup. We faced goliaths within the sport and came out alive as one of only 16 nations remaining in the tournament. We face a strong Belgium team on Tuesday that we lost to in qualifying but with the rallying cry of an entire nation behind this team, this game will be a different story.

Four Years Of Waiting Builds An Insurmountable Amount of Hype

In a little over a week, the World Cup 2014 will commence in Brazil alongside all of the sideline entertainment that we have come to expect and enjoy. Will there be something reminiscent of the vuvuzela this time around? Will we have coaching drama akin to Maradone? Will the US team surprise everyone and come out alive from the group of death?

All signs point to another victory for Spain after watching their individual players perform in UEFA and La Liga but, as any avid World Cup historian would tell you .... Always expect the unexpected!
